The New Intersectionality is that of science, psychology, and theology. This is evidenced in the writings of Henry Stapp’s Mindful Universe: Quantum Mechanics and the Participating Observer, Jordan B. Peterson’s 12 Rules for Life, and John Bevere’s book, The Fear of the Lord. Stapp writes (loc.167, Kindle edi):
- “In psychology the identity and form of the percept that actually enters into a stream of consciousness depends strongly on the intention of the probing mind: a person tends to experience what he or she is looking for, provided the potentiality for that experience is present. The observer does not create what is not potentially there, but does participate in the extraction from the mass of existing potentialities individual items that have interest and meaning to the perceiving self. Quantum theory exhibits, as we shall see, a similar feature. Thus, both psychology and physics, when examined in depth, reveal observer-influencer whole elements that seem “foreign to the classical physical principles”. Insofar as has been tested, the new theory, quantum theory, accounts for all the observer successes of the earlier physical theories, and also for the immense accumulation of new data that the earlier concepts [Newtonian physics] cannot accommodate. But, according to the new conception, the physically described world is built not out of bits of matter, as matter was understood in the nineteenth century, but out of objective tendencies – potentialities – for certain discrete, whole actual events to occur. Each such event has both a physically described aspect, which is an action that abruptly changes the mathematically described set of potentialities to one that is concordant with the increase in knowledge.”
What Stapp articulates here is what is summed up in the subtitle and overarching thesis of Dr. Peterson’s book, 12 Rules for Life: AN ANTIDOTE TO CHAOS. In 12 Rules, Peterson articulates a clear vision and procedure for bringing order out of chaos, and in his interview holds up Logos, what he says is the fundamental pillar of western civilization, Logos being what John chapter 1 references and is translated as “the Word.” My paraphrase, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, the same. And without Him, nothing was made that was made.” Again, from chaos to order by the Word, the Logos. This aligns perfectly with what John Bevere, in The Fear of the Lord calls divine order, and creates an intersection of reality from spirit (Logos), to soul and body (psychology and quantum theory).
This New Intersectionality gives us what I’ll call A Flow of Reality. Based on these intersections, I’d argue that there are membranous boundaries between the three, through which information passes. New Intersectionality will be the defining characteristic of this age, and to the degree that individuals and groups automatize it, will be the degree to which they will live, or not, to die.
